Attention... Free up your calenders, because Iceland's infamous electro/house/crunkstars STEED LORD are venturing off on their first tour of the USA. All the details surround the "Feel the Heat" tour can be seen on the flyer below, but if you're going to pay attention to one thing, focus on their August 5th date at WASTED SPACE inside the Hard Rock Hotel in Vegas. Badical Beats' own AFGHAN RAIDERS will be opening for Steed Lord that night and you don't wanna miss this dance party.

The baile-funk-electro productionaire Diplo left M.I.A. in the dust (no disrespect!) this go-around and snatched up the female sensation Santogold for his new mixtape which he calls "Top Ranking". After giving it a careful listen, the mixtape is a bit of a letdown, but it's got some highlights and definitely worth checking out.

Organs + 60's pop + french vocals + disco drums = STEREOLAB. 16 years and counting, Stereolab are back with a brand new album full of newly recorded material called Chemical Chords. The sound of Chemical Chords is essential Stereolab. Nothing really new here, just Stereolab being Stereolab. And thats the way I want it. Their sound is extremly unique. If any change at all, there are more strings on the tracks, and of course organ, always organ. Badical Beats is stoked to have an advanced copy of the LP, which means free downloads for our loyal readers! Make sure to pick up Chemical Chords when it hits stores August 19th. In the meantime enjoy the tracks below!

The sun will shine a little brighter on August 19th. Why? Why because The Walkmen have a new album silly. It's called You & Me and may be The Walkmen's finest hour. On You & Me The Walkmen have mellowed some, but have not lost any intensity. "In the New Year" is the stand out track of the album, but that is just on first listen. Like most Walkmen albums, the tracks creep up and grow on you with every repeat visit. Badical Beats has two tracks from the new LP for download below, including "In the New Year" and the album opener "Dónde está la Playa." Happy Friday!

My boy Scotty up in SLC recently launched his blog LIVING EARS which is super rad. He's doing podcasts every week with some killer tunes laced with his commentary, rants, and raves in-between. Here are the mp3 downloads and track lists for podcast volumes #1 and #2. If you're down with it, head to Living Ears and subscribe.

Move over Uffie! Letron is on the scene and she is about to blow that shit up! Straight out of Los Angeles, Letron is the most badical female beat maker/rapper we've heard in sometime. Her tracks are sensual, dirty, and bangin! Below you'll find free downloads of "Don't Need No Man" and "Bandre Bagassi," and you can grab 2 more tracks for free from her myspace. As for Letron in the flesh, if you're in the Southern California area you can catch her live within in the next several weeks. We're super pysched for her July 30th Silverlake Lounge show with Badical Beats artist Afghan Raiders.
These tracks have been on heavy rotation in our offices and in my new corolla. You'll soon know why!

Here at Badical Beats we believe a healthy breakfast comes first and foremost. That's why we've started today out with fresh fruit, yogurt, toast, and a tall glass of "Cranberry and Vodka." This refreshment was made possible by our good friends and local Vegas talent Go Kart Champion. Go Kart Champion is comprised of Keith and Josh, and their music is written bi-coastal. Josh being in Ohio, and Keith being here in Vegas, they've managed to accomplish their tracks through internet and snail mail. We're keeping our fingers crossed for a reunion of the two, so we can throw them on stage and throw our panties at em. Until then, we're suggesting you start your morning off right and grab a free serving of "Cranberry and Vodka" below!

From the inbox comes a track called "Lying In The Sun" from a Canadian artist called Koushik. He's got his "official" debut coming out on Stones Throw Records September 30th, 2008. The record is called Out My Window, and is a follow up to his "unofficial" releases of Madvilliany (Koushik Remixes) and Be With, which both dropped in 2005. I love this track because it's not your typical Stones Throw hip-hop-jazzy-sample-laced bumper. It's coming from a different place, and it's living proof of how the label loves to take risks and branch out with their artists.

Last summer belonged to those feisty nu ravers Klaxons. This summer will be owned by Castle Donington's very own, very weird, and very badical, Late Of The Pier. Their debut album Fantasy Black Channel will be released on Parlophone Records August 12th. Badical Beats has recieved an advanced copy, which I might add has been inducing eargasms all over our office. The single "Heartbeat" will be released a week prior to the LP on August 5th. We just so happen to have the video for "Heartbeat" as well, which is nothing short of amazing. Loaded with fun effects, Space Odyssey-ish visuals, and even exploding heads! Yes! And if that ain't enough, grab a free download of the track "Whitesnake" below as well. We know... and we love you too!

ARTIST: Radiohead
TRACK: "House of Cards"
ALBUM: In Rainbows
LABEL: ATO / Maple Music / XL Recordings
NOTES: This video is your typical Radiohead craziness... made with 3D plotting technology. If you're a total video-tech nerd, "Geometric Informatics and Velodyne LIDAR were used to capture the 3D images" for this video.
BONUS:If you're bummed about YouTube's quality, you can watch a slightly better quality version of the video HERE.
The ex-DFA1979 thrasher, drummer, and vocal genius Sebastien Grainger is back in the spotlight, having inked a deal with Saddle Creek Records. His debut full length is set to release in October, but to hold the fans over, dude has released a four track EP dubbed American Names. If you're already sold on it, you can purchase the Digital EP on iTunes HERE, otherwise, you find the tracklisting and download below. Three cheers for new music.

You might have noticed Digitalism on the front page of Myspace when you logged in this morning to check if you're blowin' up. The German electronic masterminds are giving away a free "Micromix" download of their new mix for Kitsuné Maison Records called "Kitsuné Tabloid". The full version is mmm mmm good, so when you get the chance grab it, but for now, enjoy a download of the teaser below.

A is for AWESOME. B is for BADICAL. C is for CSS. D is for DONKEY. As in, BADICAL BEATS has an AWESOME mp3 from the new CSS album DONKEY! Yes, those crazy Brazilians that got you all like "Alala Alala" are back with their second release, Donkey, due out on Sub Pop/Warner July 21st. "Jager Yoga" is the intro track on the new album, and we're not exactly sure what it's about, but we think it has something to do with being sexy and party'n. Donkey has the perfect amount of dance, rock, sex, and trash. Lets make love and listen to the track from below!

Yesssss... 4th of July weekend is here and a great way to get in the summer spirit is to download some new BIKINI tracks on BADICAL BEATS. The first is a cover of Feist's "one two three four", which I think they do justice, and the second is an original doowop called "I Remember Being Young". The tracks come from the Montreal based duo's new EP, Concerning the Number 7 & Your Love, which will be officially released July 7th. Listen to the good summertime jams below.
