"The Hard Sell" is DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist making music history by performing their set using eight turntables, two guitar loop pedals, and ONLY original 45rmp 7" vinyl singles. It's complex, rare, and legit, and the video below will be of further explanation.



Expect mash-ups, rap mixes with fiddle music, doo-wop mixed with new wave, and everything in between. There are only a handful of lives dates left for "The Hard Sell" tour, so clear up your iCals and be there...

The mega Parisian digital duo Justice found time in between ciggs to fashion a remix of Brooklyn's MGMT's "Electric Feel." Yes, the song that sounds like Prince with the bass line you can't get out of your head! The track is BIG, BADICAL, and in every way JUSTICE. The remix was produced for the "Electric Feel" single that was released June 24th on Columbia Records, the second single from the bands chart rising Oracular Spectacular. The single also features a remix of the title track by Rasta Wigs (of Montreal), and on some releases a cover of Soulwax's "Saturday." Get your right click on grab the track below!

LIVE: Afghan Raiders @ Beauty Bar Las Vegas

Last friday the Badical Beats artist Afghan Raiders played their first show ever to a raging crowd at Beauty Bar in Las Vegas. The gig was in support for Broken Spindles, and LA's XrayOK shared the bill as well. XrayOK put on a great show full of swagger and electric rock that really loosened up the crowd. Joel Petersen of Broken Spindles pulled off his set single handedly, playing keys, guitar, and singing with a laptop backing him up. It was a very intimate and intense performance. The closing set was by Afghan Raiders whose energy really set the crowd off. Beach balls, solid gold balloons, flying confetti and crazy stage antics (see Bean's tambourine on head dance sesh) were just part of the set, while Mikey's vocals and movements were non stop bliss. The power of fashion has pulled together Santogold, Pharrell Williams, and Julian Casablancas to make an original track in the name of shoes. "My Drive Thru" was written to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Converse and definitely features an ALL-STAR cast. The song is badical in every sense, funky, rockin, and sure to get your kicks on the dance floor. Badical Beats just happened to get their paws on the single "The Geeks Were Right" which you can grab below. The Faint kick off their international tour (dates can be seen at their myspace) in support of Fasciinatiion on July 27th. Only a geek would sleep on this!

Sunny Day Sets Fire Video Series and MP3

Not too long ago, Badical Beats was all over the Sunny Day Sets Fire Brainless EP and Stranger Remix EP, which included remixes of the single "Stranger" by CSS, XXXChange of Spank Rock, The Cool Kids, and Mad Decent/Diplo. And now, just a couple months later, Sunny Day Sets Fire is back with their debut full lenght LP from IAMSOUND called Summer Palace (out now on iTunes; In stores July 8th). If you're down with the music in the vein of The Beach Boys, The Flaming Lips, Architecture in Helsinki, and Of Montreal, then you'll be down with SDSF.
Also, in conjunction with the new LP, the band has worked with 10 different directors to release a new video for each track on the album. Le Tigre Re-Surface as MEN

If you have been wondering where Le Tigre have been hiding out, you are not the only one, and new sh*t has come to light man, so here it goes... Le Tigre is on hold indefinitely, but two of its members, JD Samson and Johanna Fateman, are resurfacing to get your party started with their new project called MEN. They've done a couple smalls tours to get the ball rolling, and it seems to be working, because they've got a bunch of fun new jams on their space. Party time.
