Heyo!  It's Remy (the Restless) and Mike (MDY) here, commandeering control of the Badical Beats Blog for the day to hype out our upcoming dance party, ///RESTLESS! @ Beauty Bar LV.

Mikey agreed to let us hi-jack the show here once a month- as long as we feed him some falafel, let him go to the bathroom every once and a while, and untie him when we were through. He's whining about the ropes hurting his wrists, so we better get started...

First of all, the basic logistics: We do ///RESTLESS! every 2nd Friday at the Beauty Bar in downtown Las Vegas.  It gets rolling around 10pm and goes as late as you (or the bartenders) do, and features rare and classic Italo/Space Disco, Electro-Funk, early Proto-Rap and R&B and all manners of danceable synthy sweetness, as well as current artists influenced by all of that
good stuff.

This month's ///RESTLESS! will welcome our pal Howlermonkey (aka Pittsburgh's David Litvin) to Vegas, coming all the way from the Steel City to make you move your feet. You may recognize the name from his solid reviews on Pitchfork (here, here & here), his appearence on Discobelle's We Got Mail, or his discographical Crystal Castles "Omnibus Mix", but it was his overlooked 80's electro-funk/R&B mix that appeared on VALERIE Blog (a ///RESTLESS! fav) that really clinched it for us... we had to have him out.  Enjoy the tunes, and come check him out:

Stoked yet?  There's more:  This month's dance party falls on π Day (get it? 3.14?) and the whole event is a celebration of three very important birthdays: Albert Einstein, genius-for-real and fellow cyclist; Billy Crystal, the marvelous comedian and Hollywood Square; and our good friend and hostess for the evening, Las Vegas' infamous Joie Jerkface.The lovely local Ladyfingers will be kicking it off on the dancefloor, and we'll be flashing geeked out films laced with Mr. Crystal's pretty mug up on the projector. Ms. Jerkface will also be judging a fully nerdy costume contest for 10 mix cd's and a $50 BAR TAB, so be sure to wear those massive lens-less vintage frames we saw you wearing last week (ya look great, honey!),
and maybe they'll get you more than laid this time around. Flaspar (PDX) will also be
playing a live set, with our friend Keil Mitchell on drums and other toys. All of this, plus the usual low-brow audio hi-jinks from us, your trusted ///RESTLESS! residents. Enjoy the following tracks from some of our current favorites and a few classics that still got their
